Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485)
This visa is for international students who have recently graduated from an Australian educational institution. It lets you live, study and work in Australia temporarily after you have finished your studies. Students are only able to access the Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) once as a primary applicant.

- Be under 50 years of age
- Hold an eligible visa
- Have a recent qualification in a CRICOS-registered course
- Meet additional requirements of the relevant stream

Graduate Work stream (Temporary Graduate visa subclass 485)
This visa is for international students with relevant skills and qualifications who have just graduated. You can temporarily reside, study, or work in Australia with this visa.
Stay
Usually for up to 18 Months
Temporarily extended to 24 month for visas issued starting 1 December 2021 Hong Kong passport holders and British National Overseas Passholders can stay for up to five years.

Post-Study Work stream (Temporary Graduate visa subclass 485)
This visa is for international students with recently completed degrees from Australian institutions. You can temporarily work, live and study in Australia with this visa.
Stay
Depending on your qualifications, it is typically between 2 to 4 years.
Hong Kong and British National Overseas passport holder may stay for up to five years.

Second Post-Study Work stream (Temporary Graduate visa subclass 485)
This visa is for Temporary Graduates who have completed a degree at an Australian institution that is located in a rural area. You can temporarily work, live and study in Australia with this visa.

Replacement stream (Temporary Graduate visa subclass 485)
This visa is for Temporary Graduate visa holders (current and past) who were unable to obtain their original visa due COVID-19 travel restrictions. You can temporarily reside, work and study in Australia with this visa.

Stay: Usually between 18 months and 5 years. You will receive the same grant period that your previous visa except:
If you received a Post Study Work visa valid for 2 years prior to your Master of Coursework qualification, now you will get 3 years
If you received a Graduate Work Stream visa valid for 18 months previously, you will now be eligible to receive 2 years. This temporary measure will not be granted. The current period should be checked by applicants when they submit their application.
Hong Kong passport holders or British National Overseas pass holders may stay for up to five years.
